2022 Course Schedule FAQ
The 2022 Course Schedule has arrived! We’re pleased to offer a full lineup complete with the same great courses and instructors you’ve come to love along with brand new course offerings. Have questions about the curriculum? Stay right here where we’re tackling your schedule-related Q&As starting with Fascial Counterstrain.
Why are there fewer FCS courses in 2022?
In order to guide clinicians through the FCS curriculum at a comfortable pace, we’re now hosting each FCS course once per year. In addition to offering multiple course options including a remote course for repeat students, we now offer FCS course bundles packaged to help you save on tuition and outline a clear path toward future certification opportunities. We recommend taking no more than 2-3 courses per year to give yourself enough time to successfully integrate FCS techniques.
Where can I find FCS for the Musculoskeletal System: Part 1-3?
FCS for the Musculoskeletal System has a (slightly) new look! In the past, MS1 was a prerequisite to MS2 and so on. We changed that this year, making FCS Foundations the only prerequisite to all MSK courses. To avoid confusion, we dropped the numerical listing and renamed them as follows:
- FCS for the MSK System: Spinal Ligaments & Myofascia (FCS MSK-SL) – formerly MS1
- FCS for the MSK System: Periosteum (FCS MSK-P) – formerly MS2
- FCS for the MSK System: Cartilage & Superficial Fascia (FCS MSK-C)* – formerly MS3
Rest assured the curriculum has not changed, only the course names. You may now take musculoskeletal courses in whichever order you prefer.
*MSK-SL is recommended prior to MSK-C.
How do I begin the FCS Central Sensitization Series?
The Central Sensitization Series: Part 1 is a highly advanced Fascial Counterstrain course which explores the general concepts and treatments related to neural crest sensitization (NCS). To begin, you must have successfully completed all 9 prerequisite FCS courses: F1, MSK-SL, MSK-P, MSK-C, LV, AR, VC, N1 and N2.
When will registration open for CSS2?
Soon! Click Notify Me to be notified via email once CSS2 registration opens. In the meantime, save the following dates and get ready to take your career to the next level!
- June 3-5, 2022: Frederick, MD | San Diego, CA | St. Paul, MN | Langley, WA
- September 30-October 2, 2022: Frederick, MD | San Diego, CA | St. Paul, MN | Poulsbo, WA
The second of three FCS Central Sensitization courses, CSS2 will allow you to become one of the few clinicians in the world who can treat these dysfunctions.
What are course bundles?
Course bundles combine four FCS courses into one convenient package. Upon completion of FCS Foundations, you may choose from the following collections:
- FCS Orthopedic Collection: MSK: Spinal Ligaments & Myofascia, MSK: Periosteum, MSK: Cartilage & Superficial Fascia, and Lymphatic-Venous System
- FCS Advanced Collection: Arterial, Visceral, and Nervous System (N1 & N2)
While you may not substitute courses within a bundle, you’re welcome to retake courses at any time.
How do course bundles work?
Upon purchase, you’ll receive an email with a voucher valid for the courses listed in the bundle’s product description. You may sign up for any course in any order at any time (with the exception of N2). To pay, simply redeem your voucher at checkout as outlined via email. Because vouchers never expire, course bundles are a great way to save on tuition and advance through the FCS curriculum at your own pace.
What is SCS Complete Body?
SCS Complete Body was introduced this year, replacing individual JCS Upper Quarter, Lower Quarter, and Facilitated courses while providing over 185+ Counterstrain techniques for the cervical spine, thoracic spine, ribs, lumbar spine, sacrum, pelvis, upper extremities, and lower extremities. Aptly named, Complete Body gives students a whole-body approach to somatic dysfunction and pain. Learn more about this comprehensive hybrid-learning course in The Beginner’s Guide to SCS Complete Body.
What is SCS Complete Body 2 and how does it differ from the intro course?
SCS Complete Body 2 offers students an opportunity to practice all 180+ SCS techniques in an intimate lab setting! Building upon the knowledge and palpation skills acquired in Complete Body, this 3-day follow-up course focuses specifically on live demonstrations and the hands-on practice needed to achieve technique mastery. In short, Complete Body teaches the skills, Complete Body 2 teaches the techniques!
SCS Complete Body is the only prerequisite, making Complete Body 2 a great refresher course for students who have taken a break from their practice or would like to hone SCS techniques prior to certification.
What can I expect from Anatomy Dissection?
Commonly described as a “life-changing experience” by previous attendees, Anatomy Dissection facilitates the hands-on exploration of over 1,000 anatomical structures via untouched cadavers. Although there are no prerequisites, these dissections will allow you to see the very systems you treat day in and day out thus improving your manual therapy practice.
Our 8-day multi-system course includes:
- Fresh, untouched cadavers for better tissue visualization and manipulation
- Adjunctive embalmed cadavers for easier dissection of neurovascular structures
- Adjunctive embalmed brains for thorough CNS neurovascular dissections
- An unbeatable course location in sunny San Diego, CA
- Supplemental pathophysiology content from experienced dissectors that will guide you every step of the way
Because dissections require a certain degree of emotional maturity, we limit these courses to a select number of dissectors per year. This also allows us to maintain a low student to cadaver ratio so that you can perform 100% of the dissections yourself. To learn more, read Everything You Need to Know About Anatomy Dissection.
A note to those who have previously expressed interest: Anatomy Dissection has been rescheduled from January to May 2022.
