Curricula

Ready to transform your practice? Choose from Strain Counterstrain, Fascial Counterstrain, and Anatomy Dissection or start with introductory courses from all three.

The Strain Counterstrain (SCS) curriculum covers approximately 200 techniques across two primary courses: SCS Complete Body and SCS Cranial. Depending on their comfort level, practitioners can either advance to a mentorship program to hone their clinical application skills in a one-on-one setting or take an exam to become board certified in Jones Strain Counterstrain.

Developed by Dr. Lawrence Jones and Randall Kusunose, PT, OCS, JSCCI, this foundational series gives practitioners an advanced manual therapy approach to somatic dysfunction and pain. Ideal for those in search of gentle manual therapy techniques and lasting pain relief for their difficult patients, Strain Counterstrain courses provide the skills and confidence practitioners need to be experts in their fields.

Expanding upon Strain Counterstrain methodology, the Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) curriculum introduces over 900 new techniques across six anatomical systems. Courses include the prerequisite FCS Foundations along with advanced FCS Musculoskeletal, Lymphatic-Venous, Arterial, Visceral, and Nervous System courses; plus a brand new Central Sensitization Series.

Developed by Brian Tuckey, PT, OCS, JSCCI, Fascial Counterstrain courses also teach practitioners how to conduct a proprietary assessment which allows them to instantly identify dysfunctional tissues throughout the entire body—a tool many credit for taking their practice to the next level. Fascial Counterstrain is ideal for any licensed healthcare practitioner who aims to dramatically expand the scope and power of their clinical skill set.

Anatomy Dissection offers a Counterstrain-specific approach to gross anatomy and is specifically designed to maximize clinical results no matter the practitioner’s skill level. Students will have a unique opportunity to dissect untouched cadavers in the 2-day Pelvic Floor course or 5-day Multi-System course featuring musculoskeletal, central nervous system, viscera, and pelvic floor dissections. No prerequisites!

Dissection is a great choice for practitioners seeking to study Counterstrain through the hands-on identification of complex anatomical structures. These popular courses provide an intimate lab setting with a maximum student to cadaver ratio of six to one. From the superficial layer of the dermis to the deep layers of the autonomic nervous system, students will visualize myriad conditions in the lab in order to treat their patients!
