New to Counterstrain? Read our frequently asked questions to become acquainted with The Jones Institute courses, the best continuing education classes for physical therapists.

Counterstrain is a manual therapy technique that utilizes diagnostic tender points to identify reflexively protected and contracted tissues. Counterstrain practitioners remove these painful tissue contractions from the body by gently slackening or decompressing the involved structures with their hands.

If you’re a certified health and wellness practitioner, you may qualify for a new prerequisite program that’s currently in development for non-licensed healthcare practitioners. This program will provide foundational elements of our broader curricula including anatomy and physiology, fascial science, neurophysiology, manual medicine basics, and more. Stay tuned for more information in 2022!

Because our course curricula requires advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, a state-issued license is required to register.
