Meet the Jones Strain Counterstrain Certified Practitioners of 2020
An elite group of practitioners have just earned a new title from The Jones Institute by becoming Jones Strain Counterstrain Certified! Under the tutelage of co-founder, Randall Kusunose, five west coast-based practitioners completed the Jones Counterstrain mentorship program, undergoing rigorous training on their way toward certification. Not only did they devote a significant amount of time and energy to the practice, they did so amid a pandemic as external demands and stressors reached an all time high for most PTs.
Please join us in congratulating the following clinicians.
Mary Beth Johnson, PT, MPT, JSCC

Mary Beth owns Healing Project Physical Therapy in Solvang, California, and has been a physical therapist for 25 years. When she’s not in the clinic, Mary Beth can be found hiking, gardening, and exploring the great outdoors.
Angie Graveline, PT, DPT, JSCC

Angie practices as an outpatient orthopedic therapist at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, California. She enjoys international travel, biking, and swimming, but what lights her up the most is working hands on with her patients.
Robert Hickman, Jr., MS, PT, JSCC

A 1989 Naval Academy graduate, Robert is proud to serve veterans like himself. He currently practices at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla, California, with 17 years of Strain Counterstrain under his belt.
Kim Braun, PT, DPT, CACI, JSCC

Kim is the owner and operator of St Raphael Holistic Center in Beaverton, Oregon. A 17 year practitioner of Strain Counterstrain, Kim now works as a lab assistant for The Jones Institute’s Jones and Fascial Counterstrain courses.
Michael Woodland, PTA, JSCC

Mike works at Larry Ham and Associates Physical Therapy in Spokane, Washington. Not only has he practiced Strain Counterstrain along with other manual therapies since 2016, Mike is one of the foremost Counterstrain providers in the area.
To become Jones Strain Counterstrain Certified, clinicians must have taken all four Jones Counterstrain courses: Upper Quarter, Lower Quarter, Cranial, and Facilitated and feel confident in their hands-on clinical skills. Once per year, The Jones Institute offers a mentorship program and certification test to prepare clinicians for the next step in their career.
